Robin Randall Smith passed away on September 7, 2019 near Monticello, Utah, doing what he loved, riding his Harley.
He was born in Van Nuys, California July 17, 1952 to Curtis Elmer Smith and Francis Dee Chaffin Smith. He was raised in Huntington Beach California and attended Marina High School. He was the second child in a family of six sons and two daughters. He worked with his father and brothers as a young man.
In 1972 he began a two-year mission in the Southern States. There he picked up a love of gospel music and barbeque he maintained throughout his life.
Robin married Linda Rae Romberg in the Los Angeles Temple on November 22,1974. They had four sons. He worked as a union truck driver and eventually became an owner operator pulling flatbed trailers throughout the western states.  In 1980 Robin moved with wife and two oldest sons to Hinckley, Utah where he managed Paramount Cubing, an alfalfa hay cube manufacturer. His job was to buy alfalfa from area farmers, turn it into hay cubes and ship it to California. He loved working with and training his sons. He dealt fairly with area farmers.
He first traveled to Parowan, Utah to visit his wife’s family in 1975. He loved Parowan. He enjoyed hiking and horse packing in the Uinta Mountains. He loved snowmobiling.
Over the years he served the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Young Men’s, Boy Scouts and a Bishopric. He was a Gospel Doctrine teacher for many years. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He spent 25 years serving on the Millard County Planning Commission.
Survived by wife: Linda; Sons: Brent (Jeannette), of La Grande, Oregon; Darren (Kezlynn) of Delta, Utah; Ryan (Jackie) of Parowan, Utah; and Kyle (Kassidy) of Cedar City, Utah.  Robin loved his 15 grandchildren: Ethan, Marie, Sidney, Lorelei, Seth, Austin, Natalie, Conner, Paige, Theodore, Quinn, Hailey, Maevy, Avery, & Lettie.

Our thoughts and Prayers are with the Smith family at this time. Robin and Linda were neighbors as I grew up in Hinckley on the farm and I always enjoyed our interactions. In fact, when Robin and Linda first moved to the area he was my primary teacher/blazer leader. I have many fond memories of our associations together. I am grateful for the influence he had especially in my early years and am grateful for his continued commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout his life. Gregg Warnick

Last year about this time, Robin and Russell Smith came to visit me. I hadn't seen Robin for many years. What a joy it was to visit with my cousin, Robin. We had dinner together at our house with my Mom (Norma) and Dad (Mac/Ellis) joining us. My Mom and Dad shared many stories about growing up with Robin's parents, Francis and Curtis. We shared stories about when we were kids exploring Grandma's (Dorothy Smith) garage and backyard, especially the fig tree and bamboo patch. Robin mentioned it will be just an amazing and fantastic experience to see Grandma again in heaven. Indeed. We caught up on our family members. The next morning Russell, Robin, my wife (Debby) and I had breakfast together. Robin shared the previous nights dinner was just a precious moment and a highlight of his trip. He really enjoyed catching up with his Aunt Norma and Uncle Ellis. I just praise God that we had that opportunity to reconnect and visit. I will truly miss Robin Smith but I will forever remember our recent joyous visit.

My thoughts and prayers to Linda and the entire Smith family.
